Connect IT Utility Services

As the UK adapts to the current situation of social distancing rules, Team Connect It is readjusting and gearing up for the start of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2020.

Connect IT Utility Services continue their sponsorship of two 2019 Porsche GT3 Cup cars, prepared by Brookspeed for the 2020 season.

Provisional dates have been announced and are subject to change dependant on the Government’s Covid-19 regulations and approvals regarding sporting activities. Team Connect It will be monitoring updates and have strict measures in place to safeguard staff and protect the health of others.

Connect It Utility Services Managing Director, Peter Leech said: “It’s been a challenging time for everyone, but we’ve all remained positive and look forward to starting the season, we’re encouraged by the enthusiasm of the team and can’t wait to see the energy they bring to the track.”

Porsche Carrera Cup GB is set to start in August opening at Donnington Park and concluding at Brands Hatch in November.

Team Principal, Martin Braybrook said: “We’re happy to have these provisional dates in place, and we’ll remain flexible if the circumstances change. We are all looking forward to racing again this year. Our team, drivers, and sponsor are all raring to go and can’t wait to get back on the track.”

Team Connect It will be running two cars for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2020. Behind the wheel in car 2 will be Aaron Mason who has been driving all over the globe with the team for several years. Aaron will be racing in the pro/am category this season. While Mike Kimber, 18 years old Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals World Champion, will be racing in the pro category in car 5. The competition of identical 911 GT3 Cups places driver skill and team performance centre stage, which always makes for a thrilling event.

Racing will be held behind closed doors until it is safe for Government Covid-19 regulations to be eased. Braybrook said “The atmosphere and energy from the crowd will be sorely missed, but we still plan to put on a hell of a show”.

The Porsche Carrera Cup GB has joined the prestigious British Touring Car Championship calendar, coverage of the races will be broadcast live on ITV4.
