Job vacancy - MU Support Operative

Connect it are a growing multi utility company and to help support our success we are looking to expand our Multi Utilities Department by recruiting an additional Operative to the team. You will support with the construction, commissioning and connection of gas and water mains and services work.

Job location: Foundation House, Hedge End, Southampton

The role will be responsible for:

  • Hands on delivery of Multi Utility operations.
  • Performing risk assessments (RAMS).
  • Demonstrate and promote a culture of Health Safety & Quality at all times and take responsibility for reporting any accidents and incidents.
  • Ensure all relevant authorisations and documentation is in place, tasks are understood, and site records are kept up to date (Use of a tablet / CRM system).
  • Communicate project variations to the project manager.
  • Used to working to DNO specifications.
  • Appropriate use of tools, equipment & plant.
  • Ensuring site and staff represent the company ethos of site safety, cleanliness, and quality.
  • Delivering a high standard of customer service; ensuring the Connect it brand is maintained.

Qualifications and experience:

  • MUST HAVE experience of the required processes to achieve a safe and effective installation on a Multi Utility scheme.
  • NJUG – understanding correct positioning, methods, and materials.
  • NCO Water main-layer and/or service layer.
  • NCO Gas main-layer and/or service layer.
  • Cable pulling and earth capping.
  • Demonstrate safe working practices and minimise risk through developing and endorsing safe operating processes.
  • Use of handheld mobile equipment to record works and data information.
  • Liaising with the clients and good customer facing skills.

 

Additional:

  • MUST HAVE strong operational experience in the utility industry.
  • Working to GIRS, WIRS and NERS requirements.
  • Experience of working in a contractor environment.
  • EUSR skill card.
  • SHEA Water / Gas / Power
  • NRSWA Operator.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • First Aid qualified.
