Work continues for multi-utility solution at Stoneham Park Academy

During the lockdown of 2020, Connect It Utilities Services did their utmost to keep constructions sites operational wherever it was practical and safe to do so, as construction was still considered an essential business.

Working through such exceptional circumstances presented a number of complex challenges, however the Connect It team made it paramount to adapt quickly, ensuring that critical projects could successfully move forward.

While following the Government and Public Health of England’s guidance, the team took use of a tri-party collaborative approach to Health and Safety Measures which were implemented across all firms on the project. This consisted of CIUS internal Health and Safety measures, Morgan Sindall Construction and SSE safety procedures.

Hampshire County Council (HCC) appointed Morgan Sindall Construction to build the new Stoneham Park Primary Academy school in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

The primary school is part of a new mixed-use development, that will create over 1,000 new homes, community centre, shops, office buildings, leisure and sports facilities, a nursery and care village.

Connect It were selected to provide a multi-utility solution for the project. For the adoption of electricity, water and gas to the new Academy School and Stoneham Park development all under one contract.

The benefits of using CIUS as the supplier for multiple services range from one point of contact for Morgan Sindall Construction project Team, improving efficiency, communication and streamlining the project management practices.

Stoneham Park Primary Academy School is expected to complete and open for the beginning of term in September 2020 and will provide places for 315 children.
